Navy is a Neutral

Lets talk neutrals. You know, the gray’s and whites everyone seems to love, blacks, tans, creams, navy. Yep, I said navy! Who else feels this way? Here is why I love using navy as a neutral.

Colors contrast beautifully when paired with navy. Yellows seem more vibrant, lavender  seems to have more depth and green becomes more present.

Its a classic. I mean no one can go wrong with navy and white!

Layering the different shades of navy allows you to play with texture and pattern.

It looks terrific in a more modern space.

Or a more traditional!

If you know me, you know I love to use color, but there are a few guidelines that I follow when designing with neutrals. When designing a space with a neutral palette, texture is essential and always consider animal print and NAVY neutrals!

XOXO,
